About Danica

Danica Mendiola is a Filipino-American illustrator based in Santa Ana, California. She is interested in the exploration of vivid colors while instilling a fun, childlike wonder that people can find solace in. Influenced by children's books' illustrators like Kevin Henkes and Richard Scarry, she aims to replicate the lighthearted atmosphere of whimsicality from such works.

In 2025, Danica graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration at Cal State Long Beach. She has worked as a graphic designer, mural assistant, and creating public artworks for the city of Costa Mesa. With expertise in public art, illustrative storytelling, and digital media design, Danica is continuously evolving in her creative endeavors.
